Meet the Founder, Penny Foote

Holistic Restorative Yoga, Deep Relaxation & Meditation

I infuse my life with purpose, meaning and vitality

I came to yoga in 1999 unaware of how deeply stressed I was.  I had also experienced a wave of loss that poured over my family in a breathtakingly short period of time. At the constant suggestion of a friend who could see more clearly how badly I needed to slow down, pay attention, and turn inward to care for myself, I walked into the yoga studio. I did not look like what I imagine a "yogi" looks like and I had serious resistance to what I thought yoga was. I walked into that yoga class with reconstructed knees.

and yet...

immediately, I knew I was home. Home is often complicated, and I spent the first 6 weeks on my mat unraveling stress, and trauma and quite frankly — I wept each class. It was seismically transformative.

On a visceral level, I began to understand the importance of cultivating and nourishing the mind-body connection. I have been devoted to sharing the practice ever since.

I finished my first yoga teacher training in 2012, and have since, had the privilege to assist yoga anatomy training's and assistant teacher training's as well as start a meditation volunteer program at Newton Wellesley Hospital in 2014.  I'm known for leading an accessible and deeply nurturing teaching style, my meditative voice, and intuitive playlist. I prize creating a safe, and welcoming space that is genuinely inviting, and conducive to providing individuals the space they need to unwind, receive and heal.  Above all, my vision is to share the profound effects of restorative yoga and meditation with communities along the East Coast.
